Drink driver banned from roads for 18 months
A 26-year-old Southampton man was today banned from the roads for 18 months for impaired driving.
Donovan Williams pleaded guilty in Magistrates’ Court to the offence which happened in Pembroke last month.
The court heard that Williams crashed his car into a wall in the Langton Hill and Mount Hill area at around 10.20am on December 16.
Williams told responding officers that he had been drinking.
He provided two breath samples to police. The lower of the two samples showed that he had 214 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood — the legal limit is 80mg.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo disqualified Williams from operating any vehicles for 18 months and fined him $1,200.
