A former teacher on the island appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with sexual assault on a teenager after he was extradited from the United States.

The 47-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl in May 2007.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo remanded the man in custody. He is next due to appear in court on Monday.
