Man admits to meat theft from Lindo’s
A 62-year-old man was bailed to appear in Drug Treatment Court today after he admitted the theft of meat from a supermarket.
Magistrates’ Court heard that Briane Jones stole two legs of lamb and plastic shopping bags from Lindo’s Family Foods in Warwick.
The meat was valued at $53.60.
He hid the lamb and plastic bags under his jacket before walking out of the grocery store on January 23.
Jones, from Southampton, admitted the offence and apologised after he was arrested by police.
He told officers that he had fallen on hard times after the death of his wife.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo bailed Jones to appear in Drug Treatment Court.
