A passenger on a trans-Atlantic flight was arrested by Bermuda Police Service after causing a disruption, forcing the pilot to divert to Bermuda. A court appearance is expected
A passenger arrested after a Mexico-bound flight diverted to Bermuda today is to appear in court.
A police spokesman said the Thomson Airlines flight from Manchester, England, to Cancun changed course to Bermuda because of an “alleged unruly passenger” about 1pm.
The spokesman said: “Apparently police officers assisted in removing the 31-year-old male passenger involved from the flight, without incident.
“He was then arrested and conveyed to Hamilton Police Station, where he remains in police custody.”
He added: “The man is expected to appear at the next available Magistrates’ Court session regarding this matter.”
