Civil servant charged with sex offences
A civil servant accused of a series of sexual offences against a child appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The 43-year-old Sandys man was charged with seven offences.
Prosecutors alleged that on March 27, the defendant showed a boy, who was under the age of 16, pornographic material and touched him for a sexual purpose.
The defendant was also accused of communicating with the boy online for the purpose of committing an indecent act and sexually touching the complainant on a date between March 26 and July 14.
The man, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was not required to enter a plea because the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo released the defendant on $10,000 bail and ordered him to have no contact with his alleged victim
The case was deferred until October 1 in the Supreme Court.
