Pair charged with having huge cannabis haul
Two men were yesterday charged with possession of more than $700,000 worth of drugs.
Zadun Robinson, 20, and Kanhai Fray, 32, were charged with possession of cannabis with the intent to supply on August 28 last year in St George’s.
Robinson was charged with possession of THC, the psychoactive component of cannabis, on the same date.
The court heard that Robinson, from Sandys, was alleged to have 7.136 kilograms of cannabis and 91.6 grams of THC.
The drugs were said in court to have a total street value of $473,450.
Fray, from Southampton, was alleged to have 6.238 kilograms of cannabis with a total street value of $311,905.
The two were also charged with conspiracy to import drugs between an unknown date and August 28 last year.
They were both scheduled to appear in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Fray failed to appear and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
No pleas were made as the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.
Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe released Robinson on $25,000 bail and ordered him to surrender his travel documents and visit Hamilton Police Station three times a week.
He adjourned the case until the October arraignments session at Supreme Court.
