Teenager denies sex assault

A 19-year-old man denied a sex assault on a woman yesterday.

Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe on Wednesday adjourned the case until March 16 and released the defendant, from Pembroke, on $5,000 bail.

Mr Wolffe ordered him to have no contact with the alleged victim.

The offence is alleged to have happened on November 3 last year in Pembroke.

The defendant and alleged victim cannot be named for legal reasons.

Magistrates’ Court also heard that the defendant did not attend a court hearing on Monday to face a separate charge of escape from lawful custody.

Mr Wolffe adjourned the escape from custody case until March 16.
