Woman accused of Covid-19 mask breaches bailed

A woman yesterday denied breaches of Covid-19 mask regulations at two grocery stores and a restaurant.

Erica Williams, 55, avoided being brought up on contempt of court charges after she turned up for her Magistrates’ Court hearing without a face mask.

But she eventually obeyed an order by senior magistrate Juan Wolffe and wore a mask.

Ms Williams denied failure to maintain proper social distancing and not wearing a mask at Lindo’s supermarket in Devonshire, the Specialty Inn, Smith’s, and the A-1 MarketPlace, also Smith’s.

The offences are alleged to have happened on July 13.

Mr Wolffe adjourned the case until September 20 and Ms Williams, from Smith’s, was released on $3,000 bail.
