Man fined for curfew breach

A man has been fined $1,500 after he was convicted of a breach of curfew regulations.

Jahkari Tucker, 25, was found guilty in Magistrates’ court of contravening the 11pm-to-5am curfew in Paget on December 19, 2020.

The court heard that Tucker, from Pembroke, argued during his trial last August that he had an exemption letter and was allowed to be out.

But Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo said he did not accept the claim and said the amount of evidence given was insufficient.

He ordered Tucker to pay the fine by February 8.
