Man fined $1,600 for possession of drugs and drug equipment
A 49-year-old man found with more than 11 grams of cannabis in his car after being stopped by police has been fined $1,600.
Seitu Ford, of Sandys, pleaded guilty to possessing drugs and drug equipment when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court today.
Prosecutor Javone Rogers said police smelt a strong scent of cannabis when they pulled Ford over after seeing him driving erratically on Palmetto Road in December last year.
Police seized a grinder – which contained more than 11 grams of cannabis – and rolling papers found in his car.
Ford apologised for his recklessness but was fined $1,600 and ordered to pay immediately.
