Farmer appears in court charged with murder
A 46-year-old man was charged this morning with the murder of a man on Saturday.
Ian Bascome, from Sandys, was charged with murdering Marco Perinchief, 49, near Clyde Best Lane on March 25.
Mr Bascome runs Westover Farms in Sandys.
Since the offence must be heard in the Supreme Court, Mr Bascome was not required to enter a plea.
Magistrate Tyrone Chin sent the case to the arraignment sessions on May 1 and released Mr Bascome on $40,000 bail.
Mr Bascome was also ordered to surrender all travel documents, attend the Hamilton Police Station three times a week, not contact any case witnesses and follow an 8pm-to-6am curfew.
Mr Chin also ordered that Mr Bascome be given an electronic monitoring device when one becomes available.
