Driver who caused crash banned from roads and fined $1,000
A driver who caused a collision in Devonshire that resulted in a man being admitted to hospital has been disqualified from driving all vehicles for six months.
Damien Campbell, 26, from St George’s, admitted to driving his car without proper care and attention when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard that in March, Campbell drove in front of a motorbike on Middle Road, causing the collision.
The bike rider, Rounak Karnavat, attended King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment to a fractured wrist caused by the incident.
Mr Karnavat received also treatment for other injuries in his native India, but it was not said in court what they were.
In addition to being banned, Campbell was fined $1,000.
