Teenager admits possession of knife
A teenager who was caught with a knife inside his bike seat will be sentenced in Magistrates’ Court next month.
Jahni Darrell, 18, from Pembroke, admitted to having the knife, which had a six-inch blade, when he appeared in court yesterday.
The court heard that officers stopped Darrell on Kindley Field Road in connection with an unrelated incident in December last year and found the knife when they searched his bike.
Darrell, who told police that he used the knife for work, was then taken to the Hamilton Police Station.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson ordered that a social inquiry report be written for Darrell and adjourned the case until June 23 for sentencing.
Darrell was released on $1,500 bail until that time.
