Man pleads guilty to breaking proceeds of crime laws
A man who was caught with thousands of dollars in cash will be sentenced in Magistrates’ Court next month.
Alcides Polanco, 42, who lives in Yonkers, New York, plead guilty to being in possession of proceeds of crime, when he appeared in court today.
Polanco was found with $78,728 in cash, both US and Bermudian currency, in St George’s in November.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson ordered a social inquiry report be written for Polanco and adjourned the case to July 28 for sentencing.
Polanco was remanded into custody until that time.
