Prowler who steals $5 of food takes jail over treatment
A man who stole from a Pembroke property will be sentenced in Magistrates’ Court next week.
Ahmad Muhammad, 35, admitted to stealing $5 worth of food from the residence and prowling at a separate property in Devonshire when he appeared in court Friday.
He also pleaded guilty to trespassing on a third property on Berkeley Road, intending to steal from the premises.
All incidents occurred between May 21 and June 21 of this year.
Muhammad, from Sandys, chose to keep his case in Magistrates’ Court and admitted to having a drug problem, but declined to participate in any court treatment programmes and instead told magistrate Tyrone Chin he would “rather do jail time”.
Mr Chin adjourned the case to Friday, June 30, for sentencing and remanded Muhammad to custody until that time.
