Fine for driver involved in three-vehicle crash
A van driver who was involved in a three-vehicle collision in Sandys was fined $1,000.
Chandler Jones, 59, from Pembroke, admitted to driving without due care and attention when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court.
The court heard that Jones was driving east along Middle Road on May 9 when he struck a bike in front of him.
After hitting the bike, which left the scene after the collision, Jones veered his van into the westbound lane and collided with a truck driving in the other direction.
The truck driver was cut on his right arm and the side of his head. Jones injured his right leg. Both vehicles were damaged.
In addition to being fined, Jones had ten demerit points added to his licence.
