Senior fined $1,000 for driving without care and attention

A woman whose vehicle was struck by a bus was fined $1,000.

Judy Smith-Lee, 75, from Warwick, pleaded guilty to driving without care and attention when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The court was told that the bus hit Smith-Lee’s vehicle while she was exiting Tynes Bay and turning on to Palmetto Road in November.

Both the bus and Smith-Lee’s vehicle were slightly damaged after the collision.

In addition to being fined, Smith-Lee received 12 demerit points on her licence.
