A motorist who struck three cars on Somerset Road has been disqualified from driving all vehicles for a year.

Kyvon Ming, 34, from Warwick, admitted to riding his bike without due care and attention when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard that after hitting a car’s mirror while riding east on May 6, Ming then struck a second vehicle and swerved into a third.

The final collision caused the vehicle’s airbag to inflate causing superficial burns to the driver’s arm.

Apologising to the court for his actions, Ming said striking the first car “threw him off” and caused him to hit the others.

In addition to being banned, Ming was fined $1,000. Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson told him: “The standard of driving in Bermuda is at an all-time low and we need to improve this standard.”
