Motorists fined and banned for six months after separate crashes

Two motorists involved in different crashes have been disqualified from driving all vehicles for six months.

Michael Brown, 61, and Kyran Simmons, 28, admitted to driving without due care and attention when they appeared in Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard that Simmons, from Sandys, collided with a car as he turned on to Wilkinson Avenue, Hamilton Parish, on December 26 last year.

The car hit a nearby wall and the driver suffered bruising. Both vehicles were damaged as a result of the collision.

Brown, from Pembroke, struck the side of a car as he tried to overtake it while riding his bike on South Road, Paget, on March 17. Brown and the driver suffered minor injuries.

Highlighting that both incidents resulted in injury and damage to vehicles, senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson fined the men $1,000 each in addition to disqualifying them.
