Fine and roads ban for motorist involved in collision
A man involved in a collision in Paget has been disqualified from driving for six months.
Derrick Augustus, 50, from Devonshire, admitted driving his car without due care and attention when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard that Augustus struck the back of a bike, which had stopped at a “give way” line near Trimingham Hill, on February 7.
The impact caused the woman rider to be knocked off the vehicle, and she was “screaming in pain” when police arrived at the scene.
Augustus disagreed with the facts read out in court, but maintained his guilty plea, and was also fined $1,000.
