Man charged with importing cocaine into island
A Pembroke man has been charged in Magistrates’ Court yesterday with importing cocaine into the island.
Edward Santos, 36, was also charged with having the drug with intent to supply. Both alleged offences occurred on February 15, 2023.
Since the case must be heard in the Supreme Court, Mr Santos was not required to enter a plea during yesterday’s session.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson released Mr Santos on $50,000 bail with one surety and ordered him to attend Hamilton Police Station twice a week and surrender all travel documents.
Mr Santos will reappear in the Supreme Court on March 1 to be arraigned.
