Drink-driver banned for 18 months
A motorist involved in a crash on Crow Lane has been disqualified from driving all vehicles for 18 months.
Sivasankaran Sundaramoorthy, 47, pleaded guilty to drink-driving when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard that police saw Sundaramoorthy, from Pembroke, talking to medical personnel on January 22.
Sundaramoorthy told officers that he had one beer before getting on his bike, which he parked on the sidewalk after the incident.
He was then taken to Hamilton Police Station, where a breath test showed more than 227 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his blood. The legal limit for driving in Bermuda is 80mg/100ml.
In addition to being banned, Sundaramoorthy was fined $1,500.
