Man banned from roads for impaired driving
A man who drove dangerously on South Road has been disqualified from driving all vehicles for 18 months.
Jermaine Simmons, 47, admitted driving his car while impaired by alcohol when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court last week.
The court heard that on December 20, police received a report of a motorist constantly driving over the centre line and stopped Simmons near Ice Queen restaurant in Paget.
Officers smelt alcohol on Simmons’s breath, saw a half-empty bottle of Hennessey in the back of his car and took him to Hamilton Police Station.
In addition to being banned, Simmons, from Pembroke, was fined $1,500.
