Man denies eight drug and knife charges
A man has denied several drug-related offences, including possession of more than $17,000 of narcotics.
Helios Teixeira, 41, pleaded not guilty in Magistrates’ Court to two counts of possession of cannabis with intent to supply and two counts of possession of a knife.
He also denied possession of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol — a cannabinoid — with intent to supply and three counts of possession of drug equipment, namely a digital scale, a pair of scissors and a grinder.
The charges relate to an arrest on January 29 last year in St George’s.
The court heard that the amount of drugs alleged to have been found had a combined street value of about $17,587.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case until April 8 and released Mr Teixeira, from Paget, on $25,000.
She ordered him to surrender his passport and to visit Hamilton Police Station twice a week.
