A jury was discharged yesterday after they failed to deliver a verdict around a Sandys man charged with murdering his former housemate in 2016.

After deliberating for more than 11 hours, the Supreme Court jury could not reach a decision on whether or not they believed Davin Providence murdered Jevon Daniels.

Puisne Judge Juan Wolffe thanked the jury for their service and discharged them.

Mr Providence had denied a charge that he murdered Mr Daniels, a father of one, on an unknown date between May 13 and June 17, 2016.

Mr Daniels’s body was discovered wrapped up in plastic and blue tape on June 17, 2016, near an area of waste ground adjoining Ireland Rangers Field on Ireland Island North, Sandys.

Mr Justice Wolffe adjourned the case until June 3 and extended Mr Providence’s bail.
