Motorist fined for striking bike
A motorist who struck a bike in Devonshire was fined $800 in Magistrates’ Court.
Priyantha Sakra Pedige, 37, admitted driving his car without due care and attention when he appeared in court on Friday.
The court heard that Pedige, from Paget, drove into the path of the bike, which was about to turn from North Shore Road on to Barkers Hill, on September 26.
The motorist sustained minor injuries and both vehicles were slightly damaged after the incident.
In addition to the fine, magistrate Craig Attridge added ten points to Pedige’s licence.
