Drink-driver banned from roads
A woman drove her car with almost five times the legal limit of alcohol in her system, Magistrates’ Court heard yesterday.
Briana Scott, 34, admitted drink-driving when she appeared in court.
The court heard that Scott, from Pembroke, struck a wall while driving on Pitts Bay Road on April 2, which resulted in one of her wheels coming off.
Officers smelt alcohol on Scott’s breath and took her to Hamilton Police Station, where a breath test showed 370 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit for driving in Bermuda is 80mg/100ml.
Magistrate Craig Attridge fined Scott $1,500 for the offence and disqualified her from driving all vehicles for 18 months.
