A teenager was charged yesterday in Magistrates’ Court with the fatal stabbing of a man on Bermuda Day.

Dahny Simmons-Outerbridge, 18, was charged with unlawfully killing 20-year-old Zijae Jones at Horseshoe Bay in Southampton.

Mr Simmons-Outerbridge was also charged with, in an increased penalty zone, having a knife in a public place.

He was not required to enter pleas during the court appearance because the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case to the July arraignment session and released Mr Simmons-Outerbridge on $50,000 bail with a like surety.

Ms Anderson also ordered Mr Simmons-Outerbridge to be placed on 24-hour house arrest, not to contact any case witnesses and to be fitted with an electronic monitoring device.
