Man in court for causing damage in police station
A man who damaged property at the Hamilton Police Station will be sentenced in Magistrates’ Court next month.
Shane Todd, 48, admitted breaking a wooden frame at the facility when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard that Todd punched the Plexiglas blocking him and the officers in July, breaking the piece holding it in place.
The total cost of the damage was $450.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson ordered that a social inquiry report be written for Todd and adjourned the case to July 18 for sentencing.
Todd’s bail was extended until that time.
