Man caught with cocaine sent to drug court
A man caught with cocaine has been ordered to take part in a drug treatment court programme.
Andrew Hayward, 43, admitted having the substance and drug equipment when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court last week.
The court heard that police found a metal socket while searching Hayward, from Pembroke, on Crow Lane on March 21, last year.
Officers seized the item and found a small amount of cocaine when they searched Hayward again at the Hamilton Police Station.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson ordered that Hayward observe drug treatment court beginning on July 9 and released him on $2,000 bail.
Hayward was also ordered to follow a daily curfew.
