Pair of thieves remanded in custody
Two men who stole almost $1,000 worth of tools will be sentenced in Magistrates’ Court in October.
Andrew Arorash, 54, and Jahroy Simons, 38, admitted stealing two saws, an oscillating tool, drills, a planer and a toolbox from a car when they appeared in court.
The court heard that Arorash, of no fixed abode, and Simons, from Sandys, took the items from the car, which was parked outside the Rayclan car repair company in Pembroke, on June 7.
They were found with the stolen items, valued at $980, later that day.
Simons also pleaded guilty to stealing a bottle of Louis XIII cognac, valued at $4,947.50, from Gosling’s on June 6, taking almost $430 worth of alcohol from BKS Wholesale and Liquors six days later and stealing a motorcycle in Hamilton on June 19.
Arorash admitted trespassing on to a property on Woodbourne Avenue in Pembroke on June 15 and damaging a car door on the premises.
Magistrate Maria Sofianos ordered that reports be written for Simons and Arorash, and adjourned the case to October 2 for sentencing.
Ms Sofianos remanded the men, who both have previous convictions, in custody until that time.
