Man admits having knife in Pembroke

A man found with a knife has been sentenced to more than nine months behind bars.

Che Pennyman, 53, admitted having the weapon, which had a 4½-inch blade, when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard that Pennyman, from Pembroke, told police he had the knife in his pocket while they were searching him last July.

Magistrate Maria Sofianos ordered that Pennyman, whose previous convictions date back to 1984, serve his 9½-month prison sentence concurrent to the term he is now serving for theft.
