Man banned for roads for refusing breath test

A man who refused to take a breath test has been banned from driving for 18 months.

Stephen Rossiter, 56, admitted the offence when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The court heard that Rossiter, from Devonshire, admitted drinking alcohol while driving when he was stopped last month but refused to provide a breath sample at the Hamilton Police Station.

Rossiter was fined $1,500 in addition to being banned.
