Man assaulted woman in June

A man who choked a woman will be sentenced in Magistrates’ Court next month.

Andre Nisbett, 31, admitted assaulting the woman when he appeared in court on Friday.

The court heard that Nisbett choked the woman in front of the her children as she was leaving his Devonshire residence on June 2.

He pulled her hair and choked her again when she retrieved some belongings from the property.

Magistrate Maria Sofianos ordered that a social inquiry report be written for Nisbett and adjourned the case to October 28 for sentencing.

Nisbett’s bail was extended until that time.
