Impaired motorist almost collided with police

A motorist who almost struck police in Paget has been ordered to participate in a drink-drivers’ court treatment programme.

Talibah Santally, 26, admitted riding a bike while impaired by alcohol when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The court heard that Santally, from Warwick, almost collided with a police vehicle while riding on Trimingham Road on July 30.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson ordered that Santally take part in DUI Court beginning on September 24 and released him on $1,500 bail until that time.

Santally was also disqualified from driving all vehicles until further notice from the court.
