Narinder Hargun, who served as Chief Justice from 2018 to 2023, assumes the role of Justice of Appeal at the beginning of 2025.

Ms Lalgie said: “Mr Hargun brings to the Court of Appeal a wealth of valuable knowledge and insight, not only from his judicial experience as the Chief Justice of Bermuda for five years but also his extensive experience in Bermuda’s Courts over the past 37-plus years as a lawyer.”

Mr Hargun was Called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1978 and admitted as a barrister and attorney of the Supreme Court in 1981. He then worked in private practice.

Mr Hargun said he was honoured to accept the role.

He added: “The Court of Appeal performs an important role in maintaining the excellent reputation of the Bermuda judiciary in relation to both local and international cases.

“I look forward to working with the president and other Justices of Appeal.”
