Woman denies handling stolen goods, intimidation
A woman has denied knowingly having a $2,000 stolen painting and intimidating another woman.
Carina Dornelas, 45, pleaded not guilty in Magistrates’ Court yesterday to dishonestly receiving stolen goods, namely the Peter Smith painting Ice Queen Scoop, that she knew to be stolen, between an unknown date and January 8.
She also pleaded not guilty to threatening Elizabeth Garcia with injury to her reputation on February 14.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case until November 8.
She released Ms Dornelas, from Paget, on $5,000 bail and ordered her to have no contact with Ms Garcia or any Crown witnesses.
