World Rugby Classic team manager banned for drink-driving
The manager of the Canada team at the World Rugby Classic admitted riding while impaired by alcohol when he crashed a rental scooter on Wednesday.
Brian Hunter, 65, was disqualified from driving all vehicles for 18 months and fined $1,500 for the offence when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Hunter hit a car on Front Street and police officers questioning him after the crash saw that he was under the influence of alcohol, the court heard.
Canada, who upset champions Argentina in the semi-finals, play South Africa in the final today at 8.30pm at North Field, National Sports Centre.
