A 37-year-old man has denied sexual abuse of an underage girl and drug possession.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty in Magistrates’ Court to two counts of having unlawful carnal knowledge of a 15-year-old girl.

The first count was alleged to have happened on an unknown date between January 1 and June 30, while the second count was alleged to have occurred on November 8.

Both incidents were alleged to have happened in Warwick.

The man also pleaded not guilty to possession of delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol on April 25 in Pembroke.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case until December 20 and remanded the man, from St George’s, in custody.
