Teen denies shooting at police

A man has denied that he shot at police officers in an attempt to escape arrest.

Ade Hart, 18, pleaded not guilty to charges that he used a firearm with intent to resist lawful arrest in an incident on August 24.

The Southampton resident also denied charges that he possessed a prohibited weapon and ammunition without a licence in connection with the same incident.

Mr Hart also denied an allegation that he, with others not before the court, took a Yamaha motorcycle without the owner’s consent on August 23.

Puisne Judge Alan Richards adjourned the matter until February 3 when it will be mentioned during the monthly arraignments session.

Hart was remanded into custody until that date.
