Court rejects man’s guilty plea
Created: Dec 21, 2024 07:49 AM
A magistrate revoked the guilty plea of a man accused of assaulting a woman in 2023.
Clarence Virgil, 56, from Pembroke, initially admitted causing the woman bodily harm when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court in September.
However, after reading a social inquiry report about him, magistrate Craig Attridge did not accept Mr Virgil’s plea and had it revoked.
Mr Attridge adjourned Mr Virgil’s case to March 18, when a trial could be heard, and extended his bail until that time.
