Man in court for haul of stolen garments
A man who stole clothing from the English Sports Shop will be sentenced in Magistrates’ Court in March.
Sinclair Fox, 76, admitted stealing more than $1,000 worth of clothing from the store on Front Street when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Security footage showed Fox, from St George’s, breaking into the premises and leaving with a bag on October 30.
Police found Fox and the bag near the Hamilton bus terminal — but $550 worth of merchandise has still not been recovered.
Magistrate Auralee Cassidy ordered a social inquiry and mental health report be written for Fox, adjourned the case to March 17 for sentencing and extended his bail until that time.
