‘Two beers and a vodka’ end in driving ban
A man who was stopped by police while driving in Hamilton has been disqualified from all vehicles for 18 months.
Pedro Lima, 30, admitted riding his bike while impaired by alcohol when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard that police stopped Lima, from Pembroke, on Front Street in October after seeing that he was unsteady on his bike.
Lima told officers he was going to the gas station and had “two beers and a vodka” before getting on his bike.
In addition to being banned, Lima was fined $1,500 for the offence.
