Thief sent to drug treatment court

A man who stole three speakers from a store in Hamilton has been ordered to participate in a court treatment programme.

Leonard Adams III, 39, admitted stealing the items, valued at $587, from Audio Visual Electronics when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The court heard that security footage showed Adams, from St George’s, take one speaker from the store on February 1 and steal the others two days later.

Magistrate Maria Sofianos ordered reports to be written for Adams, ordered that he observe Drug Treatment Court beginning on February 11 and remanded him in custody until that time.
