Man charged with 2023 road death

A man will appear in the Supreme Court next month to answer to accusations of causing death through drink driving.

Daniel Tucker, 37, was charged in Magistrates’ Court with causing the death of Lovella Cruz by driving a car while impaired.

He was also charged with driving without a valid licence.

The incident was alleged to have happened on November 9, 2023, on Somerset Road.

Mr Tucker was not required to enter a plea as the case must be heard in front of the Supreme Court.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned his case until the Supreme Court’s monthly arraignment session on April 1.

She released Mr Tucker, from Devonshire, on $15,000 bail.
