Trio face drugs and weapons charges

Three men are alleged to have been involved in a web of drugs and weapons offences.

Tekai Frost, 40, Odell Smith, 41, and Iman Gibbons, 49, appeared in Magistrates’ Court to face the accusations this morning.

They were not required to enter a plea because the matters must be heard in the Supreme Court and the trio waived their right to have the charges read in the lower court.

However, it is understood that each man faces an individual charge of conspiracy to import drugs between an unknown date and August 4, 2022.

It is also understood that the three have been charged with possession of brass knuckles and the supply of cocaine.

The charges were alleged to have happened in Smith’s on August 4, 2022, and August 10, 2022.

It is understood that Mr Frost faces further charges of possession of criminal funds between January 1, 2020 and June 30, 2023, as well as refusing to comply with a police investigation on August 5, 2022.

He also faces a separate charge of conspiracy to import drugs between an unknown date and August 4, 2022, as well as further charges of the possession of cannabis resin and a slingshot on August 4, 2022.

Magistrate Craig Attridge adjourned the case until the next Supreme Court arraignments session on May 1.

He released Mr Frost, from Smith’s, and Mr Smith, from St George’s, on $25,000 bail.

Mr Attridge also released Mr Gibbons, from Smith’s, on $20,000 bail.
