Man fined for careless driving
A bike rider who forced other motorists to swerve to avoid crashing into him has been fined $800 for careless driving.
Deon Jones, 32, admitted riding his bike without due care and attention when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard that drivers had to take evasive action to avoid Jones as he overtook traffic on South Road in Paget on January 24.
Jones, from Warwick, continued to ride carelessly and disobeyed several road signs before he was stopped by police.
Jones had ten points added to his licence in addition to being fined.
