Woman faces wounding, knife charges

A woman was charged in Magistrates’ Court yesterday with unlawful wounding.

Nyree Turner was accused of wounding Aliyah McCaskie with intent to do grievous bodily harm when she appeared in court.

The 21-year-old, from Southampton, was also charged with having a knife with a 4½-inch blade in public.

Ms Turner, who allegedly committed the offences on March 20, was not required to plead yesterday as the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.

Magistrate Tyrone Chin adjourned the case to the May arraignment session and released Ms Turner on $7,500 bail with a surety until that time.

Mr Chin also ordered her to not contact Ms McCaskie or any other case witnesses nor attend Champs Variety store in Sandys.
