DUI court for driver who almost crashed by aquarium
A man was arrested for impaired driving twice within six weeks, Magistrates’ Court heard yesterday.
Keenan Jones, 65, admitted both charges.
The court heard that Jones, from Sandys, obstructed traffic after almost crashing his car near Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo on February 26.
Police who attended noticed a dog and empty beer bottle in Jones’s vehicle.
The court also heard that drivers reported Jones after he swerved into the opposite lane of traffic in Sandys on April 1.
Officers smelt alcohol on Jones’s breath and noticed an empty bottle of vodka in his vehicle.
Magistrate Tyrone Chin ordered Jones to attend DUI Court on Tuesday and released him on $3,000 bail.
He disqualified him from driving all vehicles until further notice.
Mr Chin also granted Jones a six-month conditional discharge after he admitted two charges of trespassing at MarketPlace stores.
