Motorcyclist banned from roads
A motorcycle rider who ended up getting stopped by police has been disqualified from driving all vehicles for 18 months.
Tiago Araujo Bento, 28, admitted riding his bike while impaired by alcohol when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard that police smelt alcohol on Bento’s breath after stopping him in Paget for an unrelated matter on March 13.
Bento, from Warwick, admitted drinking before venturing on to the road, and was taken to Hamilton Police Station.
Bento was fined $1,200 in addition to being banned.
